Cutting-edge topics!

Conference

One of the major events of Master 203 is the annual conference. Each year, Stratefi 203 organizes and hosts a conference as part of the House of Finance Days at Université Paris-Dauphine.

The topics covered are current issues related to finance.
We always strive to address impactful and innovative topics and to involve leading experts who are directly engaged with these issues.

The theme of the 2021 edition was the role of sustainable finance in combating climate change. This year, the conference took place on March 13, 2024, and explored the evolution of power dynamics in China. Many students are involved in the organization, which typically spans several months.

Banking Trek

The Banking Trek – an educational trip aimed at meeting companies and professionals in financial markets – is one of the highlights of the year for Master 203 students. This educational trip is a major asset abroad for the Master’s program as well as for University Paris-Dauphine, and it helps promote the international career prospects of its students.

The Banking Treks are organized by the active members of Stratefi 203 in collaboration with the master’s administration and alumni. Our alumni network is always very enthusiastic about helping us organize these trips, providing contacts, participating in visits, and, of course, engaging with current students in a more informal setting during the Afterwork events.

Every year, two Banking Treks are organized in financial hubs: London (since 2011), New York, Hong Kong (since 2016), Geneva (2022), and Amsterdam (2023).

Quote of the Week:
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." - Eleanor Roosevelt

- Focus on One Article: U.S. CPI and PPI rise more than forecast in February

"On Tuesday, the report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed that the U.S. February Consumer Price Index rose by 3.2%, ahead of economists’ expectations of 3.1%, while the core CPI was reported at 3.8%, exceeding the forecast of 3.7%.
Later, on Thursday, the Producer Price Index was released, also revealing larger figures than expected: PPI and core PPI in February were 1.6% and 2.0%, respectively, above the anticipated 1.1% and 1.9%.

The figures triggered warnings that the Fed may have to wait longer than previously expected before cutting interest rates as the two inflation reports will probably be heavily scrutinised by the Fed on March 19 and 20 when it holds its next rate-setting meeting. In reaction to the inflation reports, the yields of both the 2Y and 10Y U.S. Treasury bonds rose to close at 4.73% and 4.31% on Friday, respectively, their highest levels this month."
